2006 Schedule : Textbook is required: Classical Mechanics by Goldstein/Poole/Safko (GPS 3rd edition, updated) based on chapters 1,2,3,4,6,8,9,10,11 and, only if time, some other bits. (optional: I'll also be drawing on "Classical Dynamics - A Contemporary Approach" by Jose/Saletan. There are a number of older textbooks in the library, catalogued either as Classical 'Mechanics' or 'Dynamics'. Lecture notes:I (try to) get my lecture notes up here the day before each class.
