Office Hours:   Tuesdays and Thursdays: I will be in my office for two hours (3pm-5pm) before each class dedicated to Physics 608 help. For other times send me an email if i'm about (esp. Mondays).

My Syllabus. From the 2006 Schedule :
"Vector and tensor methods, motion of rigid bodies, vibration, coupled circuits, Lagrange's and Hamilton's equations, principle of least action."

Textbook is required: Classical Mechanics by Goldstein/Poole/Safko (GPS 3rd edition, updated) based on chapters 1,2,3,4,6,8,9,10,11 and, only if time, some other bits. (optional: I'll also be drawing on "Classical Dynamics - A Contemporary Approach" by Jose/Saletan. There are a number of older textbooks in the library, catalogued either as Classical 'Mechanics' or 'Dynamics'.

Lecture notes:

I (try to) get my lecture notes up here the day before each class.
See the TIMELINE, and click on each lecture's link.

The timeline is the webpage that is constantly being updated from now on...
