Abstract: The Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is a United States Department of Energy nanoscience user facility providing no-cost access to expert scientific personnel, state-of-the-art instrumentation and techniques at the forefront of nanoscale materials research. Our facility is an especially valuable resource for scientists pursuing multidisciplinary fields to advance research in the fields of biology, energy, engineering and physics. The Foundry provides unique capabilities in nanoimaging and spectroscopy, nanointerfaces, nanofabrication and combinatorial nanoscience, and supports six in-house user facilities for the investigation of biological, organic, inorganic and microfabricated nanoscale building blocks and their integration into complex functional assemblies. The Foundry is seeking enthusiastic, motivated undergraduate students in the physical and biological sciences to participate in a ten-week summer internship program providing unparalleled exposure to cutting-edge nanoscience research in a multidisciplinary setting.
