- Physics GRE review course in again happening.
Hosted by the kindness of Dr. Anderson's heart.
For students interested in taking the upcoming physics GRE
tests, we will be getting together weekly to go over problems
and discuss test-taking strategies. We welcome all majors and
levels. Wednesdays 3-4pm in Physics room P-146A (starts Oct. 4th).

- Tenure-Track Position in Medical / Radiation Physics.
The Physics Department at San Diego State University invites applications
for a tenure-track position in experimental studies of the interaction
of radiation with matter, with a specific interest in medical/radiation
health physics, for example dosimetry or imaging.
The position begins the fall of 2007.

- Dr. Arlette Baljon
is on Sabbatical this semester in Holland, from where she writes:
"Hi, my sabbatical is in Eindhoven with Prof. Michels of the
Dutch Polymer Institute, a foundation funded by industry and
universities to perform exploratory research in the area of polymer
materials and to resolve the paradox of scientific excellence and
lack of industrial innovation. We are constructing an algorithm to
model polystyrene thin films. Such films are important for the
electronic industry. In particular we plan to study the stability
and glass transition of these films. Running this code and evaluating
the data will be an excellent project for an interested master student.
Exchange opportunities for students to conduct research in the
Netherlands are available as well."
