News - Physics Student Research on Show at SRS
The (first!) annual SDSU
Student Research Symposium
is on this Friday and Saturday (29th Feb/1st March)in the
Aztec Center.
The opening ceremony is at 8.00 AM.
The following Physics undergraduate and graduate students are presenting their research
in the Physics and Computational Sciences Sessions. A big audience would be appreciated
as the students are competing for
cash prizes (and acclaim)!
Oral Session A-8 in the 'Quetzalcoatl B' room has talks by:
- Fri 8.45am - Jason (Hau-Jian) Liu on 'Magnetic Field Comparison Between Helmholtz Coils and a Simulated Three-coil Array' (Undergrad with Morris)
- Fri 9.00am - Mariam Ghochani on 'Measurements And Extrapolations of Different Parameters that are Observed in the Geometry of the Crista Membrane of Mitochondria' (Masters with Baljon)
- Fri 9.15am - Omair Zubairi on 'The Cosmological Constant and Compact Stars' (Undergrad/Masters with Weber)
- Fri 9.30am - Marty Kandes on 'Multimode Interferometry of Bose-Einstein Condensates in a Circular Waveguide' (Masters/PhD with Bromley)
- Fri 9.45am - Rodrigo Negreiros on 'Structure and Thermal Evolution of Neutron Stars' (PhD with Weber)
Poster Session A-1 in the 'Montezuma Hall South' room sees:
- Fri 11.15-12.30pm Kristen Mecadon has Poster #50 on "Shadow Structures to Standardize GoogleRanksTM Between Disconnected Components"
Oral Session A-10 in the 'Council Chambers' room has a talk by:
- Fri 11.30am - Victoria Winters on 'Professional Noticing of Children's Scientific Thinking' (PhD with Goldberg)
Oral Session A-10 in the 'Calmecac' room has a talk by:
- Fri 11.30am - Dave Deriso on 'An Analysis of the Effects of Medidtation (sic) on Reading Rates' (with DiMauro)
