Click here for other current Physics Positions AvailableTenure-Track Position in Medical / Radiation Physics.The Physics Department at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in experimental studies of the interaction of radiation with matter. Of particular interest are candidates whose research will support our medical physics program. The position begins the fall of 2008. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or related field and postdoctoral experience. The new faculty member will be expected to initiate and seek extramural funding for a vigorous research program involving undergraduate as well as graduate students. The Department offers a bachelor's and master's degree in physics, and has an existing program in medical physics, as well as experimental programs in optics and condensed matter. We have on-going collaborations with local hospitals, clinics, and other industries involved with the application of medical and health physics.
