Chair search!).The Physics Department at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in experimental studies of the interaction of radiation with matter, with a specific interest in medical/radiation health physics, for example dosimetry or imaging. The position begins the fall of 2007. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or related field and postdoctoral experience. The new faculty member will be expected to initiate a vigorous research program involving undergraduate as well as graduate students. The new faculty member is also expected to seek extramural funding to support their research program. The Department offers a bachelor's and master's degree in physics, and has an existing program in health physics. We have on-going collaborations with local hospitals, clinics, and other industries involved with the application of medical and health physics.
