Tenure-Track Position in Theoretical/Computational Physics.

The Physics Department at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professor in theoretical/computational physics, beginning in the fall of 2003.


The new faculty member will be expected to initiate a vigorous research program involving undergraduate as well as graduate students. Possible areas of interest include but are not limited to: condensed matter, biophysics, nonlinear optics, chaos and nonlinear systems, materials, quantum many-body systems, and astrophysics.


Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department offers a bachelor's and master's degree in physics, and physics faculty participate in SDSU's joint Ph.D. degree in computational science offered with the Clairemont Graduate School.


Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics or related field and postdoctoral experience.
