Professor Roeder's previous teaching and research interests have been in the area of scientific instrumentation nuclear magnetic resonance.  Current interests have shifted to interdisciplinary studies, particularly the integration of the sciences and the humanities to achieve a more complete worldview. 

Currently he is engaged in full time administration as Dean of the Imperial Valley Campus of SDSU. Hence, he is not supervising student research projects.
