The thesis also contains a number of related atomic structure calculations including energies, oscillator strengths and dipole polarisabilities of H, He, and (frozen core calculations of) Li, Li^-, Be⁺, Be, Mg, Mg⁺, Ca⁺, Ca, Cu, Cu^-, Zn⁺, Zn, Sr⁺, Sr, Cd⁺ and Cd. Additionally, low-energy scattering calculations included e^--H (static-direct), e^--He (static-direct, -direct-exchange and -direct-exchange-polarised models), e⁺-Ne (static-direct-pol) and e⁺-H (including static,1s2s2p and 1s2s2pbar models).
